Wow KTU might be changing formats? I thought that NYC could support at least one Rhythmic AC station...
Any ideas ware Koombah Johnny and the rest of his crew landed gigs at?

Wow! That's interesting. Maybe now CC will get the picture, and fire Whoopi and put everyone who is currently unimployed, back to there stations where they worked before Whoopi took over! (okay, that is just my oppinion) but really, Whoopi needs to go! But if they are changing Formats, hmm that's a good question. Hopefully, they all won't end up in the unimployment line like so many still are.

Am,
C'mon you know you're dreaming don't you? Even when CC went back to there old format with the former WSNI, you didn't seem then putting Don Kannon back in mornings like he was when WSNI was Sunny 104 and a half in around 1987 or so did you?
I'm sure a format change would be a complete overhall of live jocks and tallent.

Hi. Well, I mean not at the exact station that they were at, but at least having them working again. Whoopi, wishfull thinking that they fire her. But yet then again, you never know. CC does some strange things. Like, for example, puting Delilah on KBIG. I do love delilah, but I think that wasn't the right station to put Delilah on. Has anyone heard Delilah on KBIG? I did last night. "Rhythm with Delilah" Delilah doesn't usually play up beat favorites, but I guess they put her on just because (thats another place where her show can be heard) it's clear that CC doesn't know what there doing.

If they want to work again they'll probably have to submit demo's etc. I'm sure a station format swop would mean a new PD/MD, they may keep a few people around for the overhall but maybe not. KBIG is Rhythmic AC and the Movin' format? I'm not familyear with KBIG.

john i have not heard anything but that is stupid if they are changing formatts. They have been doing so well with the dance formatt, i think if they are loosing ratings its because of Whoopi. She is not doing anything for that station. And i also think that cubby should of never left afternoon drive at Z100. He got so many awards for that work and now he is working for a low rated bitch. She has to go, gumba johnny and baltizar have to come back. They did so well for that station. And this is what i think.

As far as KTU's concerned, my Father was a loyal listener until this year. The format change is coming, I'm pretty sure of it. Wha'ts happening is they're phasing out a lot of the new dance musics and putting back some of the older classics. now this does not mean they're returning to the original format like back in 1996, which was a really friggen good mix of new and old dance music, when dance was still good to listen, but now the older songs are getting slower and a bit cheesier. Woopie doesn't belong on that station, or didn't until now. But they seem to be leaning towards Adult contemporary. At the same exact time, Party 105 on Long island, which is tough to get in, is ramping up their dance music and losing the hip hop. The timing couldn't've been more uncanny.

Thsi information was taken from a Wikipedia page, and believe me, it's accurate. I say by the end of this year, something even more drastic willb e happening.

Wow, that's interesting. I think there definitely going to change formats. And, yes, Whoopi doesn't belong there, or anywhere for that matter! No wonder there ratings dropped. (I would think a lot of other stations that have Whoopi's show's ratings have dropped too). I guess we'll see what happends....

WKTU has been rhythmic AC for a while now. Even back in 2004 /2005 and through Feb 2006 when I was in the NYC listening area, WKTU haven't really played dance music for a while now, just current CHR dance mixes along with Rhythmic AC staples. I wonder what time Vic Liteeno is on the air? I'll have to check him out on XM. I liked him when he was on WKTU.

Not necessarily. They did play a bit more dance than they do now. The change was small in radio terms but sudden, and very noticeable
